On the 13th of March 2021, I had the opportunity to interview a representative of the student council, who wanted to stay anonymous, on the issue of the student forum. The whole purpose of this interview was to update everyone on the current status of the forum that was published in Term 2 of the academic year and to seek answers regarding any issues or concerns about it.
To summarize the interview, we discussed the purpose of the student forum, its intentions, and its actual content. In our talk, the representative stated, the student council is not able to do anything regarding the results of the forum because of the current state of affairs, citing complaints by students as impossible. Instances of these impossible complaints are: turning off cameras during class time, or decreasing the amount of homework.
There was also an inquiry in the offline system of the student forum where suggestion boxes were used with paper slips. However, I feel as though there have been no changes anyway no matter the system. The transition between offline and online doesn’t matter if the school wasn't even planning on following through with changes.
Another topic brought up was when exactly the student forum results would be published. To this, the representative claimed that results were already sent to all students, however, this has proven to not be the case. After a simple survey, it was discovered that the forum results have yet to be published publicly. After addressing this to the representative, they clarified that the results would be published by Monday, on the 15th of March. As of the time of posting this article, this has yet to happen.
